welcome to llandudno surf lifesaving club nippers
Come and join Llandudno Surf Lifesaving Club Nippers squad. Nippers, aged 8 - 14, are trained on Llandudno beach on Sundays from 10am - 12pm, and the Nipper competition squad also trains on Wednesday evenings from 6pm - 7pm. Our aim is to make Llandudno Nippers the best Nipper squad team in the Western Cape - we may be small - but we can still have the biggest heart, the biggest spirit and the most fun! Lifesaving training is a fantastic exercise regimen and incorporates many sports disciplines. It is also important that our kids learn to judge and understand our unpredictable ocean, and we aim to do that in a safe, supportive and encouraging environment.
SUNDAY TRAINING Nipper families are also invited to join us for a braai at the clubhouse after training. This is a great opportunity to get to know the Llandudno Lifesaving "family", so bring your braai-goodies down and socialize. The club bar will be open for refreshments!
MID-WEEK TRAINING Our Squad training session is held by our competition coach, Archie - who is there to give our competing nippers intense fitness and technical training. These sessions are not compulsory, but we seriously encourage all our competing nippers to attend. However, please note that this is not intended as a general additional training session and nippers MUST BE EXTREMELY COMPETENT in the water as we do not have safety officers and/or parental involvement at this session. NB** If the weather is lousy, training still takes place! We will concentrate on important theory work - Lifesavers work in any conditions!
